What is it with you and all this train stuff?

This question is often asked of me, as well as probably many other railfans, rail
enthusiast and scale train modelers. All of us are railfans (well except for Congress
sometimes), however, we usually enjoy the hobby in different ways.

There are rail photographers and within this group there are many subdivisions. The
Rail Photographers subgroup include scenic photogs, roster shooters, and
prototype modelers.

The other types of railfans include
historians, operational experts, system route
specialists
and memorabilia collectors.

Then there are the
modelers, which are broken down to scales. Modelers include
the following scales: Z, N, HO, O or Lionel, S. and G. There are even sub sizes to
these scales.

To round out the railfan groups, there are
armchair watchers, rail web surfers
and
train website host. But still, there are the combo plate railfans; those railfans
there are a little bit of several different types combined into one.

So, if you're a railfan, which type are you?

I am a
Combo Plate Railfan (scenic photographer, memorabilia collector, N Scale
modeler, HO and Lionel collector and rail web surfer and train website host).
